A New Direction...

So,

This is my second blog for "my production" of Ionesco's Rhinoceros. I spoke to my drama teacher about my vision or direction for the play is. I started off by aiming it at an Australian audience - modern city-living in Sydney, but I just couldn't develop the idea enough for it to make a statement. My teacher started giving examples of what I could do. He said:
- Nazi Germany
- Facebook
- Early Japan (fighting with samurai swords)
- Hippies verse conservatives
- Punks!
and etc...

He said 'movements' in the world, and then I started thinking, 'What about feminism?', or the sexual revolution? Or perhaps... maybe I could use a cult. About a week or two ago, I came across a Christian website. But it wasn't at all "Oh, you are just beautiful and God is awesome, you are awesome, life is just awesome, let's pray!" - it wasn't nice. It wasn't happy. And it wasn't encouraging. In fact it was almost the complete opposite. There was propaganda for war everywhere! They called the Vatican "whore-mungers" They numerously try to force their opinion onto the reader. And the typical "You're going to hell"

So now, I'm just going to see where my research takes me...

Here's the link if you'd like to see the website:
